Frank Meets Bournemouth

For those of you living in the UK, you probably know by now that we have met Storm Frank and will continue to meet him over the next few as he continues to cause upset and mayhem.

This morning, I was woken up to the howling of wind and the spattering of rain on my window, peaking out through the curtains I saw the garden was in a pretty bad shape; we've actually managed to lose a few items due to the heavy winds!

I decided to put together this short video capturing the initial impact of Frank on Bournemouth mostly as story telling exercise for myself.

Special thanks to My Mum who drove me around!

Here is the video ^

Take a look, leave a comment and tell me what you think of it!

A quick self portrait!

On my way to the shoot today I was walking through Bournemouth gardens and found these really cool decorations with great reflective surfaces and since it had rained last night there were droplets all over the surface, creating some beautiful bokeh, I just had to capture a picture!

Three Years Together

Today is a very special day. Today we are celebrating our three year anniversary!
It is amazing to see how far we have come on our journey together.
It feels like just last week we were getting ready for our first date.

It has been an amazing journey with Shanice by my side. As my Best friend, Girlfriend and Soulmate; made ever sweeter by your presence in my life.

Here is a little something I put together, all of our memories captured on camera have been merged together to create one final image. For those of you who don't know, this is the first picture Shanice and I ever took together all those years ago.

The picture gives me a strange but wonderful feeling, as it is the first picture we ever took together way back when we were just friends, then I've overlapped all of our pictures from the last three years over it so it's looking back on the past but for the people in the picture, those memories are yet to happen!

Luke and Hannah's Wedding Day - 21st April 2015

I met Luke during my time at college around 7 years ago, we were both studying photography but were in different classes, so I'd see him walking around every so often. Then in our second year, our classes were mixed and we became good friends. I met Hannah at Luke's 18th Birthday before setting off for university.
It was great to see their relationship flourish, I would occasionally see pictures and status updates on facebook; then one day just after graduation I saw something that made me really happy.

"Luke B became engaged to Hannah B"

A few weeks later I photographed Luke and Hannah and we produed some beautiful engagement pictures of them. You can see the pictures here.

Anyway, flash forward 2 years to April the 21st; the day we had all been waiting for!

See you next time Super Blood Moon

As you are probably aware, we experienced a Super Blood Moon last night, well technically it started this morning at 3 am. We were really lucky to have clear skies however this made it really cold so I didn't want to travel far from home, especially at 3 in the morning.

Astronomy is a subject that I've always been interested in and passionate about and I would love to visit the moon one day; until then all I can do is stare up at the sky, and when something interesting catches my eye; to get my camera out and point it towards space and see what I can capture.

I stayed up all night, on the phone with my girlfriend, Shanice, talking about all the superstitions that are linked to the BloodMoon and joking about werewolves and aliens.

I set up my camera and tripod, I was using my 70-300 and dialled in my settings; I was shooting between f5.6-f8, between 1/400 to 1.6 seconds when the Super Blood Moon appeared as there was less light and so my sensor had to remain exposed for longer to let more light in.

Here is my favourite image that I captured this morning.

Thank you for reading, I hope you have found this interesting and feel free to read more from my blog!
